BASEBALL & SOFTBALL DEVELOPMENT CLINICS

Baseball and softball players ages 9–13 are invited to join our six-week development clinics led by Joe Carter Jr., Nick Madonia, and Carmen Spina, head coach of Rutherford’s highly successful baseball program.

These clinics offer separate training times for girls’ softball and boys’ baseball, allowing every athlete to receive focused, sport-specific instruction.

Girls’ Softball Clinic: Mondays, 5:30–7:00 PM
Boys’ Baseball Clinic: Mondays, 7:00–8:30 PM

Our experienced coaching team brings decades of playing, coaching, and player-development experience:

• Nick Madonia was a standout player at Passaic Valley and has spent more than 15 years coaching and developing youth players.
• Carmen Spina brings more than 25 years of coaching experience and currently leads one of the area’s top high school baseball programs at Rutherford.
• Joe Carter Jr. is an All-State and four-time First-Team All-NJAC former player, NJAC Rookie and Player of the Year, national champion, and member of two athletic halls of fame. He brings more than 30 years of coaching experience.

Joe has also witnessed the full player-development journey firsthand through his stepson’s progression from a successful high school player to a top collegiate catcher, first-round draft pick, and current Major League Baseball player. This experience gives Joe a unique understanding of what athletes need to progress from youth sports through the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.

Players will develop confidence, fundamentals, and a stronger overall understanding of the game through instruction in:

• Hitting mechanics, approach, and power
• Throwing mechanics and arm care
• Infield and outfield defense
• Footwork, receiving, and transfers
• Baserunning and situational awareness
• Position-specific instruction
• Competitive drills and game application
• Preparation, work habits, and advancing to higher levels

PROGRAM DETAILS

Dates: Mondays, September 14–October 19
Girls’ Softball: 5:30–7:00 PM
Boys’ Baseball: 7:00–8:30 PM
Ages: 9–13
Program Length: Six consecutive 90-minute sessions
Full Program: $350 per player
Single-Session Drop-In: $75, if space is available
Enrollment: Limited to maintain a strong player-to-coach ratio
